Hoof Stuff: The essential hoof putty… in an ozonated version!
Share
Why use hoof stuff? And why choose a formula enriched with ozone?
When a horse's hoof has cavities, old abscesses or weakened areas, it is essential to act quickly to protect the hoof structure and prevent bacterial proliferation. This is where hoof stuff, also known as hoof putty, comes in: an essential in the care kit for farriers, equine carers and demanding owners.
In this article, we explain:
- what hoof stuff is,
- why and how to use it,
- and the advantages of our new version enriched with saturated ozonated oil.
What is hoof stuff or hoof putty?
Hoof stuff is a fibrous paste that is inserted into hoof cavities. Its main function is to:
- fill holes and cracks (often following an abscess, separation of the white line, etc.),
- provide lasting protection for the area by preventing new bacteria or impurities from entering,
- and actively clean the area thanks to its natural ingredients with antibacterial and healing properties.
It stands out from liquid or spray products due to its ability to stay in place, even in the most demanding conditions (humid environments, horses in the field, etc.).
OZONE HOOF STUFF: A new generation of hoof putty
At 067, we have reformulated our hoof stuff to go even further in terms of effectiveness. The new OZONE HOOF STUFF replaces the honey and tea tree of the original version with a unique and ultra-performing ingredient: saturated ozonated oil.
The advantages of this new version:
- Enhanced antibacterial and antifungal action, more targeted than essential oils,
- Stimulation of healing and regeneration of damaged tissues,
- Long-lasting hold, even in deep cavities or humid environments,
- Always 100% natural, doping-free, and suitable for daily use.
Its complete formula:
- Saturated ozonated oil: antiseptic and healing
- Barèges clay: soothing and remineralising
- Chestnut tannins: disinfectant and astringent
- Kapok fibres: ensure hold and absorbency
When and how to use hoof stuff
Hoof putty is recommended in many cases:
- After an abscess that has burst and left a cavity in the horn,
- In case of cracks or deep risk areas (especially in the white line),
- To sanitise deep gaps, often difficult to dry completely,
- On hooves with separations, cracks, or material loss.
Hoof stuff instructions for use:
- Clean the cavity thoroughly, ideally with a brush and disinfectant spray.
- Take a little product and form a compact wick with your fingers.
- Firmly pack the putty into the cavity using a hoof pick or a clean tool.
- Check the hold: it must adhere to the walls and not come out.
- Leave in place. Reapply daily or every 2-3 days as needed.
In summary
Hoof stuff is much more than just hoof putty: it is a true protective and sanitising treatment, capable of stabilising badly damaged hooves. With OZONE HOOF STUFF, you benefit from an innovative formula, resulting from our work in ozonotherapy, to offer your horses an even more effective, natural and lasting solution.
